Release Date 10/14/2008 - The guys of Transportation met at Amherst College but upon graduation the trio decided to move to Chapel Hill, NC to continue their music. Now, close to 10 years later, they debut their long anticipated first full length record. Through the years they've released a three song 7" and a 19 song cd-r only record known as the Transportation Hour that was given away free to friends and fans. Collectively, or individually, they've helped run local venues, rehearsal rooms and studios, have played countless area shows and have lent their talents to many other local groups.
As a band, the trio strive to remain sympathetic to the more traditional genres of American and British Rock while also continuing to seek a contemporary relevance. To that end they have achieved local success by underscoring the things they like so much about the music they grew up with. Rather than trying to subvert, or in some way refuse those influences, they incorporate them. Recorded by Nick Petersen @ Track & Field Studios in Carrboro, NC. RIYL: Big Star, The Replacements, Queen, Badfinger and Guided By Voices.

Reviews:
"The ten tracks luxuriate like honey, laconic grooves radiating outward, spreading warm sticky melodies everywhere. The sweet, swelling splendor lingers like lavender, a lush aroma that seems too big to have been made by the three men of Transportation.
The ease and confidence with which Transportation move between styles is entrancing: While firmly rooted in an era and its accompanying aesthetic, the arrangements wander with the bounded abandon of associative memories, conjuring a playground of sounds from the same neighborhood. For this, Daydreams is more alluring than the sum of its influences. It's both a loving tribute and a real exploration, embracing sometimes florid, somewhat sentimental sound without reserve." ~~ Chris Parker - Independent
